The Condors, Craters and Volcanoes
We have beautiful landscapes along these back roads - including volcanoes, lakes of all shades of blue and several types of forests. These are the old roads through the north of Ecuador and
we will see some historical towns and farms. as we travel to see the 3 largest lakes in Ecuador.
The first lake is Lake San Pablo. Here we will be able to visit is the Condor National Park
were they have different types of birds, including falconry. After this we will head toward the Imbabura volcano and through to the town of Esperanza. After Esperanza, we will arrive in
Ibarra, the “White City” , a good stop for lunch. The second lake will be Lake Yaguarcocha were the race car track is located.
As we travel uphill we will be able to see a great change
in the vegetation going from a mild weather to a hot weather on the valley of Ambuqui. After Ambuqui we will head to our Hacienda Hotel located just below the Chachimbiro hot water
springs. You can enjoy a relaxing time at the hot thermal spring-fed pool and eat a delicious dinner in the dining room.
