 Nick Sanders takes you on his latest amazing African adventure from the comfort of your armchair Some said it didn’t exist, others said a group of in experienced would-be adventurers would never make the arduous desert journey to Timbuktu - the Holy Grail for round the world adventurers and aspiring travellers alike - undeterred Round the World record breaker, all round adventurer, Nick Sanders and a group of 18 everyday motorcycle riders completed this fascinating 28 day journey in February 2007 having departed on the 5th of January for the ultimate adventure; in search of Timbuktu.  In Search of the Dakar Rally and Timbuktu records two breathtaking journeys across Africa; the first by a group of ordinary riders, who, by the nature of their bravery and sense of adventure became heroes for the moment. The other story touches on the heroic efforts of racers riding the worlds toughest off road racing event. “The Journey to Timbuktu deals with the usual difficulties of riders away from home, journeying across harsh terrain in a vastly different culture, and experiencing life far removed from the comforts they are used to”.
