BMW Motorrad announces new Rider Equipment for 2007

The International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC, Birmingham will see the UK premiere of a new and streamlined 2007 BMW Motorrad Rider Equipment collection. In keeping with BMW Motorrad offering a bike for every type of rider, the Rider Equipment collection now includes a suit for every type of bike.

The main feature of the 2007 collection is the all-new ComfortShell suit, which is in line with BMW Motorrad’s philosophy of producing younger, sportier and more dynamic motorcycles. The co-coordinated jacket and trousers come in a striking blue or solid black design that combine to make a sporty, all-weather suit. Exclusive new ‘C-change’ technology developed by BMW Motorrad and Swiss textile specialist Scholler results in a fully breathable suit that adjusts to the ambient temperature.

As with all BMW clothing, the suit offers the highest levels of protection in line with the EN1621 standard. The ComfortShell suit incorporates everything that people have come to expect from BMW Motorrad Rider Equipment − style, sophistication, safety and superb quality achieved by using the most advanced technology and materials available.

Hot on the heels of the ComfortShell is the NewCity jacket, designed for commuters and city riders looking for smart, classical and functional motorcycle wear. Perfect for everyday riding, the stylish and understated black jacket has been designed to fit easily over business suits and work attire. The NewCity is constructed from abrasion-proof Cordura®500 and features newly-developed NP protectors for superior protection.

The popular BMW Motorrad Club jacket gets an update for 2007 with a stylish new design and upgraded protective properties. The Club 2 jacket is ideal for riders wanting a fashionable garment suitable for wearing both on and off the motorcycle – be they young or just young at heart!

Two new items for hot weather come in the form of the ProSummer gloves and the Summer 2 trousers. The specialist Enduro range is complemented by the newly-developed Enduro trousers. A number of the most popular garments in the 2006 collection have been updated for 2007 with a range of new colours. This includes the best-selling Streetguard 2 suit, the Santiago touring suit and the hot weather-friendly AirFlow 3 jacket.

Other key new items from the 2007 collection include the Functional Underwear range and a wide variety of new BMW Motorrad co-ordinates and accessories, from t-shirts to fleeces, caps and sunglasses.

The full range of 2007 products will be available from BMW Motorrad dealerships from Spring 2007. However, visitors to the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC, Birmingham can get a sneak preview of the new items on the BMW Motorrad stand (Hall 19, stand T228).
